Just let me say that I really don't care who wins this game. I'm not a fan of either team, nor do I dislike either team. I really hope that it's a good game, but I'm not gonna hold my breath for that. I think the Steelers in a blow out.

These are my Super Bowl predictions.

1st 2nd 3rd 4th
Steelers 3 7 13 7
Cardinals 3 6 0 7

Steelers 30
Cardinals 16

Steelers win the coin toss and elect to kick off.

MVP Troy Polamalu

This is what I think is going to happen.
Anybody else have any predictions for the game?

my heart says that my steelers will win 28-17
My head says a big turnover late in the third will shift momentum and give Arizona a win.

here's a super bowl memory I thought I'd share... I went to the last one at the Rose Bowl in the early 90's with Dallas and Buffalo. As it gets closer to kickoff the back up is getting pretty intense. people shoving, crowding. The gates aren't that wide and I'm thinking there could be an accident. behind me is a young kid with his dad. I tell the people to let the kid go before he gets trampled. All these guys around me start saying "good call, let the kid through, ect" as everyone parts to let him in, fuc*ing Ed Mcmahon takes advantage of everyone's kindness and common sense and sneaks in around everyone. Total a-hole move. hate him to this day.

Way to go Rasta...how can anyone that FOLLOWS the DEAD possibly be a STEELERS fan?

I am frickin serious...we should card em at the door, and use some muscle (Dire, McGlone) to throw the bastards out...I am ready to hit them with one of those many, completely illegal blocks/tackles that they practised (?) in the 70s...or that the Raiders invented...I just have to accept my limitations. I got ONE illegal block left in me...you, CUSH, SDH and JOTS will have to take it from there as they bring the cart out for me...

Oh come on...how can any reasonable intellectual, much less a devoted follower of THE West Coast Band, possibly, I mean EVEN consider rooting for the Steelers...well, okay, I realize that was NOT what you just posted, but...Jerry and the rest, whether living or DEAD, are clearly West Coast...so, that means Raiders. That means the Steelers SUCK. Okay, let it be the Niners. Still, Pittsburgh has to SUCK.

By default, that means the CARDs have all of us behind them. Anything less is just not civilized.

You've obviously been dosed. I would appreciate it if you did not mention my Steelers and the raiders in the same sentence. If my twisted memory serves me the Steelers have stomped many a mud hole in the ass of the raiders.

Speaking of holes, when will Crazy Al finally be forced by the NFL to relinquish control of that once proud franchise?

Steelers 34
Cardinals 23

It's funny how history and personal recollections develop...I grew up there (BArea), and followed the Raiders/Niners forever (well, last 15yrs have been lean, eh?), but would guess you are right: what IS the record if you add up the head to head Steelers/Raiders during that period? Certainly you take the 70s, right? You got your four, we got one, SB wise. Then, early 80s, we get two, and you guys drop off somewhat (right? we weren't meeting then in conf games or were we?).

But, my biased way of looking back says Raiders were better, and believe it or not, the Steelers were "bad" (evil is probably the word), though anyone else would label the Raiders and Al evil...right?

Anyway, from the perspective of Jerry et al, I am just saying...not that they were football fans THEN. Maybe more for the Niners in the late 80s they were...

So, we'll just leave it at West Coast vs pathetic towns that peaked in population in 1950 and went downhill from there (seriously, I have learned more about Pitt in the past two weeks than I thought possible...I had no idea it used to be twice as big! Does seem I see them out this way a lot these days!).

The rivalry was once a great one with both teams giving and getting their fair share of lumps. One of the few absolutes of my childhood was we hated the Raiders.

As far as Pittsburgh the city is concerned, you are sadly correct that a once mighty industrial hub has been reduced to a shell of its former self. Once the Japanese figured that steel thing out, it was all over but the crying. We still have the Steelers and the Penguins, and a that's about where it ends. But, it's home and there are many fine people, you just gotta poke around.

I'm looking forward to great game no matter who wins. I think the teams match up well and we should be in for a treat.

Hey, you said it! Lets hope for a good game...sometimes they are all over in the first quarter! Have to admit, rooting for the CARDs seems more exciting (probably since we know how pathetic they can be) in that I can't recall being as anxious for any of the Raiders or Niners--for them I was always over confident and just assumed we'd win.

Good talking with you; have to admit, those Steelers fans are everywhere. There is a bar here where people, 300 a week, actually pay to reserve a seat!
